About Us
Our History
Kim Nolan, R.N., C.R.R.N., President, Chief Executive Officer founded Progressive Alternatives in November 1993.
Having worked in rehabilitation nursing, case management, and program development with people who were physically/cognitively/behaviorally challenged, Kim was seeking a positive alternative to a nursing home setting. By forming Progressive Alternatives, she created a viable setting where individuals who have undergone hospital-based rehabilitation might achieve a high level of care, structure, and support as they continued to work towards realistic functional goals.

Since 1993, Progressive Alternatives has specialized in working with clients, following hospital discharge, who have experienced life-altering injuries resulting in Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and Orthopedic Trauma.
Our person-centered rehabilitation program focuses on the needs of our clients and how we can creatively assist them in gaining a level of control over lost functions and once again find meaning and purpose in their lives.
